Three simple rules:
1) Maximum 10 characters in total.
2) You can group them into up to 4 words (tags).
3) One word (tag) can contain no more than 4 characters.

Examples:
✔ 2 words with 4 characters each + 2 single characters = 10 total (OK)
✔ 4 words with 1 character each = 4 total (OK, but word limit is reached)
✘ 5 words even with 1 character each = not allowed (word limit exceeded)
✘ One word with 11 characters = not allowed (character limit exceeded)
All of them! Horizontal, vertical, and diagonal. Eight directions at once — you can set the puzzle to be easy or very challenging.

Learn Chinese while playing

Why is it fun and effective?

Chinese characters can feel mysterious, but with the game “Find the Hanzi” learning turns into an adventure. Your mission: spot the hidden characters on the grid. Sounds easy? Not really — other sneaky symbols are trying their best to confuse you!

This exercise is more than just fun. It trains your focus, memory, and recognition of Chinese characters. The more you play, the faster you spot the right ones and the better you remember them. Studying becomes a real quest.

And if you really enjoy it, you can download the PDF version and challenge your friends offline: who can find all the hanzi first?
