Yes. Choose an audio-to-Hanzi mode to hear a word and match it to its characters, with or without a pinyin step. Listening modes work in the online game, not in PDF.
Yes. The translation setting controls whether a meaning appears beneath the first Hanzi card. An empty translation does not prevent you from playing.
PRO members can generate a PDF for the text-based matching modes and turn on answer pages before downloading it.

Hanzi Connect: Match Chinese Characters, Pinyin and Sound

Turn character recognition into an active matching challenge. Hanzi Connect asks you to link Chinese words with their pinyin, work in either direction, or complete a three-part chain. Prefer listening practice? In the online audio modes, hear a word first and find the matching Hanzi. Each round tracks your progress and mistakes.

Build a session from your own vocabulary or let an HSK or YCT level fill the remaining places. You can adjust pinyin and meanings, choose whether meanings appear as hints, and practice five words at a time. The online game is available after sign-in; FREE supports five words and PRO supports up to 100. PRO members can also make printable matching worksheets with optional answer pages. Audio-only connection modes are not available in PDF.
