YCT 1 — Basic Level of Chinese for Kids

YCT 1 is the first level of the Youth Chinese Test, designed for children and young beginners. It is the starting point for learning Chinese in a simple and engaging way.
At this level, learners study basic characters and everyday expressions: greetings, numbers, and common objects. YCT 1 helps children build confidence in pronunciation and get used to the structure of the Chinese language.
Fun fact: YCT 1 includes only about 80 words, but these are enough to understand simple cartoons, basic texts, and dialogues in Chinese.
On our website, you will find the full YCT 1 word list with pinyin, translations, and audio recordings for pronunciation practice.
